A local independent funeral director commented on what is believed to be the region's first designated 'Columbarium' in a cathedral saying the Columbarium would offer an ideal solution for those who preferred a more spiritual focus for their cremated remains.

The Cathedral Columbarium will provide both a special place of repose for ashes at the Cathedral and a long-term fund for the upkeep of the Cathedral.
