The heavy day to day maintenance costs of a Church as generally borne by its own parishioners. The Cathedral is the Great Church of the diocese and it is only right therefore that its support should be extended throughout the whole Diocese.

The Friends are an organisation to co-ordinate this support. They specifically fund projects to enhance the position of the Cathedral. Examples have been the purchase of a new organ, the provision of a new sound system and the initiation of a complete new lighting system. The Friends appeal to you to join them now in sustaining the glory of this Cathedral

A special Mass is offered each year when Friends can meet together in celebration and thanksgiving.

Be proud to play your part in sustaining the glory of this Cathedral church. Help to maintain and preserve the building, and to make sure that everything within it is worthy of its great tradition and of God.

Take part in special way in its services and the major activities that are planned. By your witness, bring others to an interest in the Cathedral and its work.
