Today some of the young people of our parish will receive the sacrament of Confirmation at the 11 am Mass: Thomas Bush, Michelle and Sandra Busuttil, Amy Conroy, Alice Deeley, Calum Douglas, Rosemary Essien, Thomas Gidney, Hannah Langlands, Roisin Marks, Charlotte McCourt, Imogen Millbank, Billie Robson and Florence Severs.
 
Also today the children preparing for First Holy Communion meet in the hall at 3.30 pm. Their parents will remain for a meeting with Father James.

The Renewal Prayer Group meet next on Monday 12th May at 7.30pm in Cathedral House. All welcome!

The Wednesday Prayer Group meets every Wednesday at 7.30pm in Cathedral House. Tea and coffee.  All Welcome!

The Annual Childrens’ Pilgrimage to Walsingham  takes place on Tuesday 27th May 2008 during the school half-term holiday. The day will begin with a procession from the village, at 10.45 am, led by Bishop Michael, to the shrine. Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon at the Chapel of Reconciliation followed by a picnic in the meadow and a fun afternoon at the beach. Further details from Christine Storman 01603 713390.

Catholic Diocese of East Anglia Summer Camp 2008 - Come and Join us!! Open to all children! Junior camp 8-14 years. Friday 22nd August till Monday 25th August at Eccles Hall, Norfolk. Details from your Parish Priest or contact Christine Storman 01603 713390.

Scripture Reading Together: Everyone is welcome on Tuesdays from
11 am -12 noon in Cathedral House to listen to and explore scripture. Bring a Catholic Bible if you can. We plunge into the Old Testament this week.

Go Karting in Ipswich May 30th (Friday of half-term) - Organised by the Diocesan Youth Service. For anyone of secondary school age. Rumour has it the Bishop is taking part! The parish records are being updated. Make sure you fill in a Census Form!

The next Coffee Morning for the Development Fund will be in the parish hall on Thursday 22nd May from 10.30-12 noon. Your hostesses will be Maureen and Pat. Admission £2.50. Raffle and Bring & Buy.

Bank Holiday Cycle Pilgrimage to Walsingham - Monday 26th May: Sponsored ride in aid of Andy and Mary Clarke’s African Mission. Led by Fr Peter as it was last year. Start 8 am sharp from Cathedral House. Back in Norwich by 6 pm. We want as many as possible to join us. If you can’t ride, please sponsor Fr Peter. Forms at back of the Cathedral after Mass. Other details in the latest edition of The Herald or ring 451886.

Hobble with the Bishop 18th May 2008. A sponsored walk in Thetford Forest for all young people of secondary school age. Raising money for young people in Cambodia and the Holy Land. There will be a Choral Concert in St John’s Cathedral on Saturday 21st June at 8 pm. Haydn “The Creation”. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 7.45 pm in the Choir Sacristy. Tickets may be bought from the Cathedral Shop £6-£15, accompanied children £2. Please support.
